Recruiting Internationally From a Recruiter’s Perspective

Operating within the international recruitment space I often get questioned on the benefits of recruiting internationally. I can go on for days explaining why recruiting internationally is truly beneficial not only to one’s organisation, but also to the economy of the intended country.

The main point I usually respond with is that there are people in different countries who are overflowing with skills, talent and knowledge and are looking for opportunities in countries such as Australia to prove themselves and essentially provide a better life for their families.

Hiring people who are not only working towards pursuing their career and developing their skills and knowledge but who are working towards a brighter future for their family, will always work in your favour. After all, the most important asset to any business is their employees.

Another major benefit of hiring internationally is that the international candidates’ qualifications are recognized in Australia and can be transferred to Australian standards, which means these candidates can seamlessly integrate into the workforce system.

I believe international recruitment is not spoken about enough. The reason behind this statement is that far too many companies around Australia tend to have negative perceptions and a lack of familiarity with the world of international recruitment. Many think the process is far too lengthy and not worth it, but based on the clients we have assisted with workers from around the world, they have reaped their benefits by gaining staff who are committed to their organisation, adding diversity to the workplace, access to international talent and more.

With candidates coming from countries across Africa, South East Asia and South America, we hear of their challenging stories which fuels their motivation and attitude to start a new life and work towards theirs and their family’s future.
