Australia South Africa Immigration Team Meets in Cape Town

Australia South Africa immigration team

Every few months, our Australia South Africa immigration team comes together in Cape Town to connect in person. These visits are a chance to strengthen relationships, align strategy across our international offices, and focus on what matters most. We are here to help clients navigate immigration to Australia from South Africa and beyond.

August 2025 – Emigration Expo & Seminars (Pretoria & Cape Town)

We are so fortunate to have the boss man visit us every few months in Cape Town. Seeing someone in person really has its benefits, and Paul’s August trip to South Africa reminded us how valuable face-to-face time is for both our team and our clients.

From the Emigration Expo in Pretoria to hosting immigration events/seminars in Pretoria and Cape Town, the visit gave us the opportunity to meet families and skilled professionals exploring their options for migrating to Australia. We also partnered with Trade Skills Australia who joined us at the Emigration Expo with a surprise appearance at our Australian Immigration Seminar in Pretoria. They were here to answer your questions about moving to Australia and how your skills and qualifications can be recognised.

It was also a chance for our immigration and recruitment team to reflect on recent achievements and focus on what lies ahead. When we come together in person, the impact is clear…big things happen.

While Paul has now returned to Australia, collaboration continues daily across our international offices. Together, we remain committed to helping clients from South Africa and beyond make the move to Australia a reality.

May 2025 – Emigration Expo Johannesburg and Meeting Marie

In May, our Australia South Africa immigration team came together in Cape Town for two weeks of productive planning, collaboration, and team connection.

Paul and Marie joined the Cape Town team in person, bringing valuable insight and face-to-face strategy time that helps keep our migration and recruitment work aligned across both countries.

It was a chance to refine goals, explore upcoming opportunities, and work closely on what matters most. Helping clients navigate immigration to Australia from South Africa and beyond. There was also the Emigration Expo in Johannesburg that Paul, Cindy and Nicole attended – a real treat to meet so many different people all eager to make the move to Australia.

We ended the visit with a team lunch (and a huge amount of laughter!), reminding us how lucky we are to be part of such a strong, connected team, no matter where we are based.

Paul and Marie have now returned to Australia, but the collaboration continues across our international offices.

January 2025 – Systems, Culture and Our People

The new year started with an inspiring visit from Paul, joined this time by Dave and Kim from our Australian offices. We were all excited to finally meet in person and spend quality time together in Cape Town.

This visit was focused on strengthening our systems, culture and people. We worked closely as one Australia South Africa immigration and recruitment team to plan for the future, making sure our processes stay aligned and that our clients continue to receive the highest level of support.

Bringing our teams together across countries helps us refine the way we work and ensures that both our migration and recruitment services grow stronger every year. Moments like these remind us that our culture is built on collaboration and connection, no matter where we are based.

September 2024 – Brainstorming, Braai’s and Snags

September brought another visit from Paul, and this time we made sure to give him the true South African experience with a proper braai. In return, Paul introduced us to the famous Australian “Bunnings snags” – a fun cultural exchange that brought plenty of laughs around the table.

Between the good food and laughter, the trip also included important work. Paul met with clients facing complex immigration cases, providing expert guidance and support where it matters most. Our team also spent time brainstorming and aligning strategies to ensure our migration and recruitment services stay strong across both South Africa and Australia.

Until next time!

Automatic Visa Cancellation

A father came to Australia on a student visa together with his family. He then abandoned them and disappeared. A year later, without warning, the Department of Home Affairs automatically cancelled the visas of the mother and her three children.

Health Waiver (Autistic Child)

An IT professional had been working in Australia for 10 years. He had left his autistic child in the Philippines because his medical condition failed the health requirement. The risk in applying for the permanent visa was the “one fail, all fail” rule – his autistic child would result in the refusal of the whole family.

Health Waiver (Rare Blood Condition)

A beef processing farm in NSW urgently needed a Production Manager with meat manufacturing experience. We identified a highly qualified candidate who was soon offered the position with visa sponsorship. However, the process became more complex when it was discovered that his young son had a rare blood condition that did not satisfy the health requirements. We put forward a strong argument requesting a health waiver which involved demonstrating that the condition wouldn’t place undue demands on Australia’s healthcare system.

Case Study – Mining Industry

A company that supplies mining services in Western Australia were experiencing challenges in retaining mobile plant operators. Their workforce consisted of veteran staff and high turnover working-holiday people. The company engaged us to provide a migration solution and assist in recruiting experienced international workers.
