International Team Collaboration: South African Meetup in Australia

Team Dinner in Melbourne with our two Capetonians

Two of our Capetonians, Cindy Truebody and Kyle Lennon, have touched down in Melbourne for two weeks of collaboration and training with our Australian team.

During their visit, they’ll be sharing ideas, learning from each other, and working side by side with our colleagues in Australia. It’s always great when our teams can connect in person. These visits are often where the best ideas come to life, helping us refine how we work and strengthen the connection between our South African and Australian offices.

AGM and Team Workshops in Melbourne

Their visit also lines up with our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at our head office in Sunshine, Melbourne. The team will be discussing everything from people and systems to the culture that makes Dizon & Associates what it is today.

For some, it’s the first time meeting in person, and with a packed schedule of workshops, planning sessions and team catch-ups, it’s shaping up to be a very collaborative two weeks ahead.

This visit is part of our ongoing focus on international team collaboration, bringing together perspectives from both sides of the world. Our South African and Australian teams continue to operate as one, sharing ideas, supporting each other, and staying connected through our common goal of providing exceptional service to our clients everywhere we work.

More Cases

Automatic Visa Cancellation

A father came to Australia on a student visa together with his family. He then abandoned them and disappeared. A year later, without warning, the Department of Home Affairs automatically cancelled the visas of the mother and her three children.

Health Waiver (Autistic Child)

An IT professional had been working in Australia for 10 years. He had left his autistic child in the Philippines because his medical condition failed the health requirement. The risk in applying for the permanent visa was the “one fail, all fail” rule – his autistic child would result in the refusal of the whole family.

Health Waiver (Rare Blood Condition)

A beef processing farm in NSW urgently needed a Production Manager with meat manufacturing experience. We identified a highly qualified candidate who was soon offered the position with visa sponsorship. However, the process became more complex when it was discovered that his young son had a rare blood condition that did not satisfy the health requirements. We put forward a strong argument requesting a health waiver which involved demonstrating that the condition wouldn’t place undue demands on Australia’s healthcare system.

Case Study – Mining Industry

A company that supplies mining services in Western Australia were experiencing challenges in retaining mobile plant operators. Their workforce consisted of veteran staff and high turnover working-holiday people. The company engaged us to provide a migration solution and assist in recruiting experienced international workers.
