  • Perform structural pulls using Car-O-Liner or similar systems
  • Carry out advanced panel bonding, spot welding (Mig/Tig), and sectioning
  • Work on EV and hybrid body structures where required
  • Repair ADAS-equipped vehicles with precision
  • Strip and refit mechanical/electrical components related to body repairs

Eligible Countries & Age Limitations

Age 18–30 years: Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Malta, Netherlands, Republic of Korea, Taiwan.
Age up to 35 years: Canada, France, Ireland, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom.

Up to 12 months on your first 417 visa. Extensions may be available if you meet specified work requirements (e.g., regional work).

You can apply for a second and third Working Holiday Visa if you complete the required specified work in regional Australia during your stay.

You can work full-time, but generally no more than 6 months with the same employer unless an exemption applies (e.g., different work locations; specific sectors; some Northern Australia industries). We help you plan for compliance.

Up to 4 months

You should have enough savings (often >AUD $5,000 + onward travel funds).

Your visa may be refused if you do not meet health standards or have a criminal history. Even minor offenses—such as traffic violations, alcohol-related incidents, or petty drug charges, can impact your eligibility.

Do I need formal trade certification?

Relevant training, OEM methods experience, and strong practical skills help you succeed. Send your CV; we’ll advise fit and location.

Under WHV condition 8547, the standard limit is 6 months. However, exemptions exist (e.g., working at different locations for the same employer; work in critical sectors; certain industries in Northern Australia). We’ll help you plan a compliant pathway or request permission where needed.

A second/third WHV may be possible if you complete specified work in approved industries/areas (e.g., plant & animal cultivation in regional Australia; construction/mining in eligible postcodes; tourism & hospitality in Northern/remote areas; disaster recovery). UK passport holders applying on/after 1 July 2024 do not need to meet the specified work requirement for 2nd/3rd WHV. We’ll explain options.

  • Estonia: Up to 30 years old under WHV 417
  • Sweden: Up to 35 years old under WHV 417
  • France: Up to 35 years old under WHV 417
